Tibetan Liaison Officer Dhondup Gyalpo Visits Sherab Nangjey Tibetan Language and Culture School in Antwerp

Antwerp, Belgium: On the morning of 30 November 2025, Dhondup Gyalpo, the Tibetan Liaison Officer for European Countries, visited the Sherab Nangjey Tibetan Language and Culture School in Antwerp, which functions under the jurisdiction of the Belgian Tibetan Association. He first attended the school’s morning assembly, after which school director Lobsang Khedrup delivered an introductory address. This was followed by remarks from the Tibetan Liaison Officer, who spoke about the Central Tibetan Administration’s three pillars of democracy and the various departments and autonomous bodies under it.

The Liaison Officer expressed his appreciation to the founders of Sherab Nangjey School, as well as to those who have continued to serve the institution since its establishment. He encouraged everyone to work diligently to ensure the preservation of Tibetan linguistic and cultural heritage, emphasising the responsibilities borne by individuals who serve the community and play key roles in safeguarding and promoting Tibet’s rich traditions.

As several parents were present, he highlighted the importance of providing children with a traditional education rooted in morals and ethics, with particular attention to preserving the Tibetan language and culture. He urged parents to cooperate with and support the weekend school in its efforts to enrich Tibetan children through a comprehensive traditional education.

Before concluding his visit, the Tibetan Liaison Officer toured the classrooms and interacted with both students and teachers.
