On a bright sunny day in Brussels, venerable Zeekyab Rinpoche returned to the European Parliament to continue the CTA led advocacy tour for the 11th Panchen Lama, Jetsun Tenzin Gedhun Yeshi Trinlay Phuntsok Pelsangpo.
A meeting with MEP Evin Incir from Sweden was organized in the European Parliament. Venerable Rinpoche presented his case to the MEP and put forward his five-point appeal for her consideration.
MEP Incir listened with utmost attention to Rinpoche’s presentation and expressed deep sadness over the case of Panchen Rinpoche. She said it was unacceptable of China to be silent on the enforced disappearance of Panchen Rinpoche for 27 years whose case has become one of the world’s longest enforced disappearances.
On the same day venerable Zeekyab Rinpoche had a fruitful meeting with MEP Andrea Cozzolino from Italy who has been supportive of initiatives on Tibet in the European Parliament. He listened to Rinpoche’s presentation with a lot of sympathy.
Venerable Zeekyab Rinpoche also met with MEPs Massimo Castaldo and Livia Jaroka.
All MEPs offered to raise the issue in the European Parliament after due consultation with other like-minded MEPs and explore ways forward.
The Office of Tibet, Brussels, organized Rinpoche’s programme in Brussels and Representative Rigzin Genkhang was present in all meetings.
