
Brussels: The Tibetan Dhomey Association in Belgium organised a celebration of the 88th birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, according to the Tibetan lunar calendar, on 3 June 2023.
The event was presided by special guest Jonang Gyaltsab Ngawang Choekyi Nangwa and chief guest Representative Rigzin Genkhang of the Office of Tibet, Brussels. Other distinguished guests present at the event include former Parliamentarians Chabdak Lhamo Kyab and Dolkar Kyab, Tibetan association-led Belgium-based associations.
President of Dhomey Association Tsaye Kelsang addressed the gathering highlighting two core objectives of the foundation of the Domey Association which are to follow the directions of the Central Tibetan Administration and to look after the welfare of Dhomey Tibetans in Belgium.

Representative Rigzin Choedon Genkhang spoke about His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s constant advice to be a good human being and the responsibility of each Tibetan to preserve national identity.

Special guest, Jonang Gyaltsab Ngawang Choekyi Nangwa urged Tibetans to collectively pool their efforts irrespective of differences to the common struggle. He also appealed to everyone to adhere to the advice of His Holiness.
At the same event, the newly elected Executive members of Dhomey Association were sworn in and the next day, Sera Je Cultural Centre organised a prayer session and discourse on Buddhist Philosophy at Schoten monastery.
Representative Rigzin Genkhang was accompanied by Secretary Thinley Wangdue at the event organised by Dhomey Association and Accountant Tenzin Norden attended the event organised by the Sera Je Cultural Centre at Schoten Institute in Antwerpen.
