On the second day of Losar, Representative Tashi Phuntsok and EU Advocacy Officer Rigzin Genkhang met with Alessandro Chiocchetti, the Head of Cabinet of the recently elected European Parliament President Roberta Mestola.

The half an hour meeting started with Chiocchetti enquiring about His Holiness’ health and other issues of mutual interest. He also shared his dream of visiting Lhasa one day.

Representative Tashi Phuntsok thanked Chiocchetti for the respect extended to His Holiness the Dalai Lama and submitted the hard copy of the congratulatory letter by His Holiness the Dalai Lama for MEP Roberta Metsola’s election as the President of the European Parliament. The soft copy was forwarded in January itself.

Köller, member of cabinet responsible for Asia and the Middle East was also in attendance.
