Brussels: Under the initiative of the Belgium Ghoton Committee, 17 Tibetans residing in Belgium participated in the 46th edition of the Brussels 20 km Race on Sunday, 31 May 2026, to raise awareness about Tibet and the Tibetan cause in observance of the Year of Compassion.

Around 50,000 runners from 141 countries took part in the event.

While Tibetans have participated in the race in previous years through individual registrations, this marked the first time they competed under the banner of Team Tibet, making the initiative unprecedented.

Representative Rigzin Choedon Genkhang also attended the event venue to extend her best wishes and present ceremonial scarves to the Tibetan participants.
