The Regional Tibetan Youth Congress in Belgium hosted the celebration of  the 88th birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Antwerpen on Wednesday, 6 July 2023.

Secretary Thinley Wangdue was the Chief Guest at the event and Venerable Metok Rinpoche and Geshe Tseten Phuntsok, leaders from other Tibetan organisations were among the attendees.

Thupten Phelgye, President of the RTYC Belgium presented a brief introductory remark on the occasion and briefed about His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s tireless efforts to uplift the Tibetans. He thanked the Tibetans for joining the celebration.

Palden Tsering, President of the Tibetan Community in Belgium made a strong-worded appeal to the Tibetans to work unitedly to fulfil the aspirations of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

Secretary Thinley Wangdue greeted the audience and read out the 16th Kashag’s Statement on His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 88th birthday and meanwhile reminded the audience to be practical to the words of His Holiness instead of just celebrating the occasion.

The celebration was followed by a number of cultural songs and Tibetan circle dance (Gorshe) which was well received by the locals as well.
