Office of Tibet Brussels Begins Collection of Chatrel 2022-2023 in Belgium and Netherlands

The Under Secretary of Office of Tibet, Brussels Tenzin Nordhen visited the scattered Belgium Tibetan Communities under the jurisdiction of the Office of Tibet, Brussels for collection of the financial Year 2022-23 Chatrel (Green book) on every weekend w.e f 12th November 2022, beginning from Antwerpen where the biggest Tibetan population in Belgium are residing.

He visited the various scattered Tibetan communities in places like Ghent, Brugge, Oostende and Leuven in coordination with the Belgium Tibetan Associationwhich is being headed by the President Palden Tsering. Both were well received by the respective Tibetan community heads and committee members during their visit.

During his visit to the places, the local Tibetans appreciated the special doorstep initiative taken by the OoT Brussels for chatrel collection. They requested similar arrangement to be made every year.

The under secretary covered all the places within the Belgium Country in 3 weeks time. He also visited Amsterdam, Netherlands on 13th December 2022 during the Nobel Peace Prize Celebration by the Netherlands Tibetan Community, to collect the Chatrel, and had collected around 230 chatrel of Tibetans in a single day. He returned to Brussels the next morning.

Owning to the participation of Tibetans under the jurisdiction of the Office of Tibet, Brussels, the chatrel collection this year was successful.
