Representative Tashi Phuntsok and ICT Executive Director Wangpo Tethong

Brussels: Wangpo Tethong, who assumed the post of Executive Director of the International Campaign for Tibet (ICT) Europe last October visited the Office of Tibet,  Brussels, yesterday January 10.

Representative Tashi Phuntsok received him at the office joined by Thinley Wangdue, Secretary and Tenzin Lekshay, Accountant, of the Office of Tibet.

In the formal meeting with the Representative, the ICT director briefed the former about the ongoing campaign by the ICT with Dhondup Wangchen. He conveyed he was most satisfied with the outcome especially with the print media giving wide coverage. Mr Tethong further inquired from Representative Phuntsok on various subjects relating to the global aspect of the Tibetan struggle with special focus on Europe.

Rep. Phuntsok gave a detailed background on the working relationship of the Office and the ICT. He emphasized that the Office and the ICT retained a very harmonious and effective understanding of their respective roles and has worked together on numerous projects with much success.

“The Office  has always appreciated the contributions of ICT Europe”, he added.

Apart from this formal meeting, the two had earlier met and discussed common campaigns during the farewell ceremony hosted for Tsering Jampa, the outgoing Executive Director, last October in Amsterdam. In December again they participated together in the campaign of Dhondup Wangchen in Brussels.

The meeting strengthens the relations between the Office and ICT and paves way for constructive future programs.
