78th Independence Day Celebration of Indian Embassy, Belgium

As the Indian Diasporas around the world celebrate India’s 78th Independence Day, European Union Advocacy Officer Tenzin Phuntsok attended the celebration of the 78th Independence Day of India being organised by the Indian Embassy, Belgium.

European Union Advocacy Officer Tenzin Phuntsok attended the function on behalf of the Office of Tibet, Brussels, to express gratitude to the great nation of India on this special occasion. He offered a traditional Tibetan scarf to H.E., the Honourable Ambassador of India (Belgium, Luxembourg, and European Union), Shri Saurabh Kumar, on this joyous occasion of India’s 78th Independence Day.

H.E. The Ambassador was delighted to see a Representative from the Office of Tibet and thanked for coming and participating in the Independence Day celebration program. He specifically recalled sending his Representative, Shri Saravanan Balasubramanian, first Secretary (EU), during the official reception to celebrate His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 89th birthday in July. Furthermore, the Ambassador promised to work together in the future.

EU Advocacy officer, Tenzin Phuntsok also met with Shri Rajesh Kumar, Attache (Ambassador’s Office), and some other Indian Embassy staff and greeted them on this joyous occasion.  All of them are delighted and thanked for the participation. The celebration began with delivery of  the statement of the Honourable President of India on the 78th Independence Day to the gathering by H.E. Ambassador, followed by the presentation of a few Indian cultural performances.

The participation helps maintain regular contact with the mission and explores areas of mutual cooperation to strengthen the bond between the two offices.
