Choerig Zinkyong School in Belgium Organises Children’s Cultural Evening

With the ease of Covid-19 restrictions, Choerig Zinkyong’s Jamyang Lophel Sunday school celebrated the 32nd anniversary of noble peace prize day cum Children’s Cultural Evening event on 3 April 2022 in Brussels.

The organisation runs 6 schools with over 372 Children in Belgium namely Antwerp, Brussels, Leuven, Ostende, Gent and Bruge.

In his opening remark, Secretary Tashi Delek of the Chorig Zinkyong School said that with Covid-19 pandemic, the teaching programs were implemented through online classes. He further mentioned the success of the children’s education largely depended on the contribution of the parents and teachers.

Representative Tashi Phuntsok congratulated the staff, the children and the parents for their resilience and determination in making so much progress following the Secretary Tashi Delek. He also applauded the younger generation’s readiness to shoulder the responsibility. As frequently emphasised by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, he urged that it’s vital to preserve Tibet’s custom, culture, and language, but more than that, preserving our Tibetan unique values and characteristics such as love, compassion, tolerance, and warm heartedness are even more important to preserve. Representative also handed over the certificates to the school graduates.

The day-night long event was followed by number of Tibetan traditional dances and songs performed by the students and parents of the six school. The event was also attended by various Tibetan Associations in Belgium, hundreds of children, and parents.

Chief guest Representative Tashi Phuntsok, Office of Tibet (OOT), Belgium was accompanied by Mr Thinley Wangdue, Secretary, OOT at the event.
